Time to Change Pledge

12 December 2019

Today at our Annual Meeting we signed the Time to Change Employers Pledge to demonstrate commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing amongst staff, volunteers and trustee board as well as the wider community.

Sarah Troop, Director says “at any time one in four people will be experiencing a mental health issues so it is very likely that people within our staff and volunteer team will be among this figure. We want to ensure that people who work with and for us feel that they can speak openly about any issues they are experiencing free from concerns about stigma or discrimination”

Statistics from Time to Change, the national charity that campaigns to reduce stigma around mental health, shows that 90% of people with a mental illness report experiences of stigma and discrimination. They also show that 95% of employees calling in sick with stress gave a different reason.

By signing the Employer Time to Change Pledge we have demonstrated commitment to embedding positive mental health at policy level, providing information to staff and showing commitment from senior level.
