Local charity Maldon and District CVS in partnership with the Moat foundation is offering support to local people who are staying at home to manage their health, connect with others and find local services using digital technology.
As part of the community coordinated response to the corona outbreak the two organisations have recruited volunteers to act as digital buddies to give advice over the phone to people. Support on offer includes help to use online services such as the NHS app to manage prescriptions and access health services, to navigate the Essex map website which has been populated with information on local businesses that are offering delivery services to residents or to help to explain video calling technology.
Anyone who would like support is encourage to call the coronavirus response helpline on 01621 851997 and a digital buddy will then be able to call you back.
In addition to the over the phone support individuals are also able to attend virtual coffee mornings online that are taking place on a weekly basis. To find out more visit www.maldoncvs.org.uk/virtual-coffee.
