Coronavirus update

15 September 2021

The Government have this week announced their plans for the coming winter months with some provisos relating to mandating masks and vaccine passports being held in reserve for the time being. Central to the ongoing plans to contain and control the virus remains the vaccine programme. Testing and self isolation when required.

In October last year the Maldon Community Coronavirus Response were able to secure funding to purchase a storage container for the community. This container enables partners to continue to be able to provide support to people who are required to self-isolate after a positive COVID test, a contact from Track and Trace or close contact with someone with a positive test

The response team are able to support people to stay at home through the provision of a food parcel with supplies for up to two weeks and will take into account people dietary needs, cooking abilities and facilities when providing support. In addition, support to pick up prescriptions and to access other support remains available.

If you or someone you know needs support to self isolate they can contact the response through Maldon and District CVS on 01621 851997 or 07526 403340 or via email to

The support is free of charge although anyone wishing to donate can visit
