Information for Volunteer Involving Organisations

Registering with the Volunteer Centre - Maldon and District Recruiting Volunteers Volunteer Management

Organisations that are registered members of Maldon and District CVS can access Volunteer Centre services and only need to complete an Volunteer Opportunity form in order to begin recruiting volunteers through the Volunteer Centre.

If your organisations is not currently registered with Maldon and District CVS please complete an Organisation registration form from the CVS Homepage

Membership is free to all commnity groups and charities based in or providing services to the Maldon District.

Volunteer Centre only membership
If your organisation is based outside Maldon or is within the statuatory or private sector you can register as a Volunteer Centre only member. Please complete a Organisation Registration Form and return along with details of any opportunities that you would like promoted through the Centre.


The Volunteer Centre - Maldon and District can help Volunteer-involving organisations to recruit volunteers

Opportunities listed with the Centre will be added to our database so that we can promote them to prospective volunteers.

We also include opportunities in regular press releases, supermarket notice boards, on our website and on the national do-it website.

Remember to help us to successfully and effectively recruit volunteers you should keep the Volunteer Centre up to date with any changes to your opportunities, any new opportunities and details of any forthcoming training dates.

Volunteer Centre member organistions are assisted to provide support to volunteers placed with them and follow good practice guidelines.

The Volunteeer Centre can provide guidance on issues and questions around various aspects of  volunteer management including:
  • developing new volunteer roles and writing role descriptions;
  • advice on risk assesments and CRB checking;
  • reimbursing expenses;
  • supervision of volunteers;
  • writing a Volunteer policy,
  • Volunteer agreements; 
  • involving young volunteers.

Volunteer Centre members will also receive a quarterly newsletter containing information on legal issues, volunteer awards, local training, promotional activities and good practice information.

Volunteer Centres Essex
The Volunteer Centre is a member of Volunteer Centres - Essex, a network of Centres across the county of Essex including the unitary authority of Southend. Organisations that operate in one of more districts in the county can request that we share information provided to us with others in the network. Please advise us of the areas in which you operate or are seeking volunteers when registering your opportunities

As part of Volunteer Centres - Essex the Volunteer Maldon and District is an accredited member of Volunteering England
