Easter Event for Young Carers

Young
Carers got together recently to celebrate the Easter holidays with
their families. At a special event at the Museum of Power they were
treated to games, crafts and celebration food. The event funded by the
Big Lottery and organised by the Museum of Power in partnership with
the Volunteer Centre – Maldon and District and Action for Family Carers
enabled local families to have a supported fun day out. Susan
Hastings-Herbert manager at the Museum of Power said “The Museum works
hard to foster relations in the community. This wonderful day has been
a real benefit to local young carers and their families and made
possible by working closely with local community groups and businesses.
”
All the families that came along to event said they had a great day and it is hoped that more will follow.
Local
businesses Essex and Suffolk Water, Tesco and Hobbycraft also supported
the event with in kind donations of time, prizes and activities.
