Buddy Volunteers
Buddies are paired with ‘client’ volunteers who wish to get involved in volunteering, but feel they need a helping hand.  The role of a Buddy is to support, enable and empower their partnered volunteer, giving time alongside them in a placement.

Buddies provide:

  • A patient and listening ear
  • Moral support, thus building confidence
  • Occasional practical help to enable a volunteer to fulfil his or her duties
  • Occasional provision of transport to a placement (full expenses reimbursed)
There is an ongoing need for buddies and in particular, we would welcome volunteers with any kind of experience of mental ill health or learning disabilities, we believe that such experiences can enable buddies to better support others.

The project is also looking an Admin Support Volunteer to assist the Supported Volunteering Coordinator in following up volunteer enquiries, maintaining accurate records of volunteers and monitoring placed volunteers.
